Good morning!! (It’s still morning in Bangalore)
This is my second week in India. Everytime people ask me “How’s India?”, I always answer “India is GREAT”. My aunty always told people,”Do not believe what I said coz it can be misleading.” Hahaha.. Maybe she’s true, coz when I said, “It is GREAT”, I didn’t mention the ‘despite’.. “Despite the fact that I have to squeeze in the bus every day, despite the fact that I was chased by beggar at one time, despite the fact that the curry tastes the same for me every day, I can only say one word, “GREAT!” That’s the reason why I think it’s great.
When people ask me, “Are you homesick?” I said, “Not yet. I will feel homesick by the time I come back to Singapore, not now.” Hehehehe. I love the symphony of car honking and I love the tense that I feel when the auto rickshaw does some kinds of manouver when it turns. I also love the peace at night without internet connection, spending time reading book or doing cross-stitch. These are things that I can’t get in Singapore. These are the things that make me feel at home. Even though I don’t know whether I can achieve my dream to go back to Indonesia one day and even though I cannot imagine myself squeezing in the bus in Jakarta every day, I keep this flame in my heart that the chaotic place like Jakarta is where I belong.
However, it doesn’t mean that one shouldn’t put any effort to make it a better place. I’ll do something. I’ll make it work, according to God’s way, not my own way. Perhaps this NOC Entrepreneurial India is one alternative for me, something that opens my eyes that there are a lot of things that I can do in Indonesia (and also in Singapore!)
Okay...now my post doesn’t make any sense anymore. Hahahaha.. (as usual :P) I'll talk about the workshop sessions at other time :) See you!!
Hello! I'm missing Sri Lanka too - I'm sure it's not as crowded as Bangalore, but I miss the slightly messy roads, and the horns, and the sound of crows calling. And I need some peace of mind - want to just read a book too...haha.
