random feeling

setelah ziarah 7 gereja, aku dinner di Subway Paya Lebar sebelum ke Malay Heritage Centre. Maksud hati mau nonton tari Zapin, tapi kok ndak ada n malah adanya kuda kepang??dasar website Spore Arts Festival kok ga akurat sih? T.T tapi tadi had a nice chat dengan seorang ibu-ibu yang awalnya aku tanya arah jalan,eh akhirnya dia bilang mau ikutan nonton tari Zapin krn bete di rumah nonton TV doang, suaminya lagi kerja night shift gitu.. hehehe..

Subway sudden moody feeling....
duduk sendirian mengunyah cold cut trio,eh tiba2 tau ga ada lagu apa?
leaving on a jetplane..HAHAHAHA..(kok ketawa?)
sebenernya, lagu ini cukup ada kenangan tersendiri sih..wkwkwk..secara dulu saya long distance, tapi sekarang kan aku ndak ke mana-mana, tapi ada satu lain yang bergaung gitu,
"Every place I go, I think of you..
Every song I sing,I sing for you.."

especially the first line..

the pilgrimage 29 May 2010

I dunno how and why I came up with the idea of visiting all churches in Spore in 4 years of my undergraduate life. That moment, I didn't have any idea about how ppl do pilgrimage in Spore. The idea of Pilgrimage in Indonesia was visiting "grotto" (Gua Maria), e.g. Sendangsono, Cisantana, etc.

Legion of Mary introduced me to the tradition of Church Visitation (and it is an OLD tradition!!) On Maundy Thur last year. In fact, we did it again last month. Carol from Opus Dei even guided me how to do pilgrimage to Holy Cross. We prayed rosary on the way to the Church, in the Church, and from the Church.
Actually, I didn't really know how to do it for my case today (7 Churches). So I just did my best to keep praying and reflecting on the way from one to another Church. Do u know what I felt? today was really a day I consciously kept talking and listening to Him and Our Lady. and it's...FUN? hmm...i cannot choose an appropriate adjective. It was just so comforting, relaxing, and inspiring for me :P can i say it's a family picnic with my Mother and my Lord?

hmmm..since i alr wrote in my "traveling journal"..i would just note down some interesting things that i've found today:
1. a lady whom I asked on the way to Church of St. Michael was not just showing me the way,but also walking with me till I found the Church.
2. I saw 4 butterflies: one at the grotto at Church of St. Michael, one at Church of St. Stephen, and another two on the way to Church of Divine Mercy
3. the stain glasses were so beautiful!! i nvr appreciated the stain glasses in the Church as I saw them today
4. it turned out that the last 3 Churches had different mass timings and novena timings so when I arrived in the last 3 Churches, I always somehow attended the novena. The novena in OLPS was my first novena in a Church in Spore (i attended it till the end), then I attended the beginning part of novena in Holy Family, and the end part at Our Lady Queen of Peace
5. I heard Gregorian Chant from a room - dunno where - while I was praying in Church of Divine Mercy. An old man- my dad's age - helped me to find a way to this new church.
6. Holy Trinity is my favorite parish today :P Maybe because tomorrow is Trinity Sunday, so they'll hv a big celebration tomorrow. The parish was so ALIVE!! Women practicing dance moves, children playing around, a board to say thanks to the priests.. COOL!! *not that the noise was cool, but it's alive..ppl don't just come and go to the church..it's a community*
7. the Stain Glass in Holy Family is my favorite :)
8. Our Lady Queen of Peace's atmosphere is similar with Church of St. Teresa. but unfortunately, the warden couldn't wait to lock me inside :(
9. Church of St. Michael is the most simple church today. It is sweet-simple-homey (is there a word "homey" or "homy" ??
10. Church of Divine Mercy is HUGE but can someone tell me where the grotto is?? It was sooo quiet and peaceful inside, but to be honest, it needs some extra signage or statue to indicate that it is a Catholic Church coz It is hidden by the HDB blocks and if ppl just pass by, they won't realize it's a church if they don't look up and see the cross up there.
11. Church of St. Stephen's holy water place is my FAVORITE :p
12. I love Church of St. Stephen's location. It's at the same complex with the school and looking at the school reminded me of my school in Indo (NUS is my first non-Catholic-school). I didn't enter the school complex, but I could feel the same warmth even from outside (maybe u think i'm weird, but there's sth in that school which gives the same atmosphere as what my school gave to me)

OHH...i wrote a lot hahahaha

well, the fact that this idea of doing this pilgrimage today, popped out just last nite..suddenly just opened the website and tagged Dom and John Sim, it was already a miracle for me :) btw,I do think it's nice to have VISIBLE name of Church and statues like OLPS coz I was confused whether I should go to Church of HOly Family or OLPS. I decided to take bus to Holy Family and it passed OLPS and with only one glance I realized i needed to press the bell!! hehehe..

checklist (not yet):
1. Church of St Francis Xavier (is it near Church of St. Michael??)
2. Church of St Vincent de Paul
3. Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
4. St Anne's Church
5. Church of Christ the King
6. Church of Our Lady Star of The Sea
7. Church of St. Anthony
8. Church of St Francis of ASsisi

hmm..so next pilgrimage should be West-North-Serangoon :) maybe week 0 or october?
ahhh..maybe Legionaries should also go to Indonesia. Lots of pilgrimage places in Java Island, me myself have not done it, I did only in Jogja district. FYI,Indonesians love doing pilgrimage all the way from Java to Sumatra Island and also 'only' around Java, e.g. in Java, they usually go Jogja-Central Java-East Java and people from Jakarta can go all the way to Sumatra Island to do pilgrimage to grotto around there, e.g. around Lampung, a province in Indo. :) :) but in Indo,it's really more from grotto (including the parish nearby) to grotto rather than from church to church. how how??or we can go to Philippines,hihihihi..since we have Krizia and Carina.

Thank God for today!! :)

JB trip 28 May 2010

well...
I nvr thought long weekend will be THIS FUN!!hahahaha..

I and Ee zhen left eusoff quite late. It was alr 10a.m. plus... We reached Kranji MRT and we were queuing for bus 170 for 40 minutes..yeah..the queue was SUPER LONGGGG!! so, we predicted that we would spend 3hours only for queuing,so we should not go back to spore too early..hHAHAHAHA..

after we checked out from Singapore,we were queuing again..and we met Siok Lee!hahaha..i was a bit envy coz JB-ers could go home very frequently.. :( well, actually Priya also went back to Indo during this long weekend, but if I went home during long weekend,my mom would scold me..HAHAHA.. "u think u r so rich ya?hahahaha" but anyway,i managed to persuade her to let me go home in the next recess week :P

trapped in the traffic jam,I played pick-a-boo with a baby in front of me..HAHAHAHA..she was so cute :) but her finger was injured, burned coz of hot water..

the immigration queue in JB was THE MOST HORRIBLE queuing experience. hahaha.. yeah, as we predicted, 3hours for queuing (total queuing time from kranji to JB). We checked the movie timing in City Square. Robin Hood 6.45 p.m. hmmm.. I dont mind going back quite late and taking cab from MRT,but coz it was alr 3.30 p.m, we decided not to watch.

I ate nice noodle in a restaurant there.hahaha..i love it :) Hakka minced meat noodle :P Initially i wanted to try their zha jiang mian, but the photo made me think that i wouldn't like their style of zha jiang mian. It was my breakfast+lunch+almost dinner :P

well, Ee Zhen was right. There were lots of cheap stuff in City Square, but - i think it's a miracle - we didn't buy anything!!! HAHAHAHAHA..cool!! We managed to walk around the whole mall by 6.30 p.m. and we randomly said to each other,"let's watch!"

and the Robin Hood ticket was still available,hahaha..soooo..it was my first-movie-that-i-watched-not-in-indonesia (i wanted to say spore, but we were in JB,HAHAHAHA), in 2010. The last movie that I watched was in sem1,Slumdog Millionaire (was it sem1 or sem2 2009/2010??) oh noo...

and...we reached singapore only in 1.5 hours. We didn't queue at all in the immigration check point.HAHAHA.

Actually it was ONLY a mall and it was ONLY JB. I didn't even walked out from City Square, but it was just so fun to escape from Spore.. is spore that bad??hmmm

Phi Phi Island 9 May 2010

well,it was the most tiring day. hahaha.. we went snorkeling, but it's not like when I was snorkeling in LOmbok. In Lombok,my family went to a quiet island and the whole island was like ours and I snorkeled twice at different side of the sea :) while this time, we were on the ferry, then were distributed snorkeling equipment and life vest then they dropped us in the middle of the sea and the big bunch of ppl jumped to sea. hahaha.. we could bump into each other coz there were so many ppl. but yeah..it was soo beautiful.. :) the interesting part was me,mami, and andrea met a Thai guy who initially just told us to be careful coz andrea was trying to stand on a coral. He told us where we could and could not stand. At the end, he let us just hanging to his life vest and guided us to different part of the sea,so we could see different 'scenery' under the sea.. :) nice!! *kak lulu,i think i must really learn diving when i go back to indo..hehehe*

aft that I just took a nap then when it was almost sunset, three of us went kayaking to the middle of the sea *lightbulb mode, hahaha* the sunset was very beautiful and actually at the beginning,I couldn't think I would be able to sail with them till the middle of the sea (it looked soo far!!), but yeah...we did it!and we saw the sunset..kyaaaaa..pretty :)

then we had a FEAST!!hahahaha..we ate a lot..nice food!!

i think the funny conversation was this..mami asked,"wahh..it was soo fun..when will we be able to travel again like this? three of us like this.." then I spontaneously said,"hahhh..I want to travel again, but does it mean i will be lightbulb again??hahaha"

the next morning,we were just walking at the beach. I walked to different direction with them. It was so nice to see the sky and the hugeeeeeeee sea and also to play with the waves..hihihihi.. I used to prefer mountain than beach, but now I wish I could escape to beach more often..okay..since i'm in spore, maybe to swimming pool? coz in sentosa,i couldn't really see the wide sea..my sight was limited by the ships..HAHAHA..

ohh that nite..we wanted to watch cabaret..hehehe..quite expensive..before we went cabaret,we went to saloon..yeay!!obviously cheaper than spore hahahaha..since i cannot go home during this 3-month-holiday, i used this chance to do pedicure..hehehe..

in Phuket town,11 May, our last day...we went shopping (again!)..Well, i didn't buy much..i just bought a skirt (it was sooo sweet :) ), two 'chopsticks' to bun my hair (only $1 each!!), and two t-shirts, one for my dad and for khiu-khiu (uncle, mom's side)

well, when we arrived in Spore..i felt like i was thrown to the real life (again!)..hikzzz...that week was horrible..i think i felt homesick and i had lots of stuff to be settled in that week..thank God now it's over..i mean, my bad mood was over and now i start enjoying my REAL LIFE..hehehe

looking forward for the next traveling time :)

Chatuchak 8 May 2010

well,I remember that I really want to write about an old lady that I met in Church of St. John in Bangkok, so I shall continue the story about my adventure in Bangkok.

Chatuchak is a weekend market in Bangkok. It's SUPERBIG and I saw from aromatherapy to snack, from pets to souvenirs! HAHAHAHA. It literally had everything in CHEAP prices. I didn't think that I would buy lots of stuff, but at the end I really bought various things, starting from Elephant soap for Angie and Evi, lighter for my Dad (i nvr know what i should give for my dad, so i always buy lighter), pillow sheet for my mom, wallets, wooden souvenir to clip photo for myself, shirt which is written "i'm working working working". hehehe..

then I and WAranya went to Church of St. John near the market (only 2 subway stops). It was locked :( thankfully, Waranya asked a girl to open the gate, but I could only take pic and pray at the grotto outside and in front of St. JOhn's statue.I don't hv any ideas how it was inside. well, aft the girl opened the gate, she locked the gate again so we couldn't get out. Waranya greeted an old lady who was arranging the flowers and the old lady couldn't speak English. The lady was very nice and Waranya told me, the lady said sth like "peace be with you".

So..that's my story in Bangkok. Waranya went to airport with me then I flew to Phuket. Phuket was very similar to Bali. Not many drivers knew Sikka Boutique Hotel, the hotel where I would stay in Phuket. Btw, the cab driver that finally dropped me to the hotel was quite interesting. He told about the alarm light near the beaches in Phuket, how I didn't need to worry if there was a tsunami (duhh), and he gave his number for me to call him when I needed to go to airport on the last day of vacation.

the hotel was quite small and it was sooo comfortable. I was just having dinner and watching while I was waiting for Andrea and Mami. Initially I wanted to walk to Patong Beach alone, but I was quite scared coz it was dark and as I walked further, I could alr see some pubs,so I just turned around..

lunchtime exploratio

now I really appreciate my lunchtime :)

I promise myself to find a new thing every day hehehe
yesterday I found discount in The BOdy Shop ($15 for 2bottles of shower gel!!!)
a few days before I found a Christian bookstore and enjoyed watching trailer in the Cinema..HAHAHAHA..

tomorrow?

hmmm..let's see..I Hope I can walk fast enough to reach MPH bookstore :(

the protest... 7 May 2010

First, I hope my mom is not reading this post (she has BB now..can see my fb oopss)
Second, pls dont tell my mom if you read this post..

after having dinner at a Japanese restaurant (yeah..i was in bangkok, but eating Japanese food, hahaha), I followed Bo to sit with the protesters..actually the initial plan was following Waranya and her friend watching movie. oh no..the first plan was going to a night market, I asked about Pat Pong (since all A lounge gank kept saying 'pat pong' 'pat pong'),but they said it's sooo 'dirty' and the things there were expensive.. I dunno why,but we ended up walking among the protesters..

I think, I already looked scared and worried by that time till Bo asked me "Are you ok? Do you feel tired?" and assured me that it's safe coz SHE (yes,she..so brave...i was amazed) had been sitting there the whole day.. and yeah..the situation looked normal. I saw the big screen projecting the political leader talking at another side of protest, people queuing up to sign up as 'red shirt supporter' by paying 50baht, people selling stuff, including 'red shirt merchandise', and even they checked our bags before we entered the main area of protest.

well,in my whole 19 almost 20 years of life, I have not been in any demonstration. but that time,It was not like a demonstration for me. The protest was like..hmmm..people were camping there..sleeping on the streets, bathing, selling stuff, and even some middle-age ladies offered us free snack (yes, they had stove there,on the streets). Bo and Waranya were involved in a conversation with the women, talking about what they were fighting for, is it a democracy? and so on....

Then we reached the main area of protest. it was an OCEAN OF PEOPLE!! They were sitting there (and we were too),listening to a political leader speaking on the stage with a huge banner "WE ARE PEACEFUL PROTESTERS,NOT TERRORIST" i WISH i could understand what he said.. The shopping centers around the street had closed for a month (equivalent with Spore's Paragon and orchard road)

then we walked from protest area to buy snacks and we saw this board "Message for the government". There was a note "Abhisat, je detest beaucoup" that time,I only knew that it meant "I hate you". This note was also interesting coz even though it was supposedly for the government, they wrote in English to 'someone else', e.g. the green board on the picture..

btw, forgive me for the layout of the photos..It was so random. I had to cut-paste the code coz it kept moving up to the top of the post :(

anyway,I felt very sad coz a few days later, the army started shooting the protesters. I was among them and it's true there were lots of women and children, and most of them might not understand what they were fighting for. They were victims... :( I hope the situation is getting better. I love Bangkok, even though I was there only for 3 days. Thank God I was safe..*sorry to make some people worry..T.T* and Thank God in 3days,I learned a lot..and I experienced many interesting things. I wish next year I could come back to Thailand and go around Thailand (not only Bangkok).

:)

i dont see the flower 7 May 2010

From Jim Thompson's house, I took cab to Vinmanmek mansion. The weather was SUPERHOT!!! Sadly,I also couldn't take pic inside the mansion. The only pic I had was this one.

in fact, the King still used the mansion to welcome the International guests. I agree that Thai people respect their King very much. hmm..maybe just like the people in Java respect the Sultan?

Then I dropped by Elephant Museum. WAhhhhh... There were many trunks and there were explanations about White Elephant and different class of Elephant. The museum was very small and the museum keeper just came when I was about to open the door. hehehe..

The next stop was Flower Market! YEAY! I went to Thewet Pier by cab. Initially the driver did not know when I kept saying "Thewet Pier", but at the end he got it and dropped me there. I think I was supposed to take boat to Pra Chan Pier but I alighted at Pra Athit Pier and after I asked around, they told me that I should take another bus. :( That's when I realized that I alighted at the wrong pier. I took the boat again to Pra Chan Pier.

well, after that I was quite sure that I stopped at the correct pier. The people whom I asked just say "ohh go straight" "go straight". Yes I saw a market (it's really a traditional market, not even like Pasar Modern BSD :P), but I didn't see any flower market. :( I walked quite far till I reached the main road and entered a bank,"Excuse me, where is Pat Klong Talad?" Then she said,"Yes, this is Pat Klong Talad." "ohhh..but I don't see the flower" hmmm..

I walked out from the bank then I turned left. I started to see flowers.. First I thought,"oh ok...they're still 'normal' flowers". Sometimes I entered the shop just to enjoy the aircon..:P but as I was walking further,I was amazed and couldn't help to hold my 'amazed' expression. IT'S TOTALLY FLOWER FLOWER EVERYWHERE!!! and I loved looking at the people who arranged the flowers. I entered a huge place filled with different kinds of flower. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

from flower market, I was using the magic word "yuk ti nai ka?" to go to Pahurat. I only saw the main road and gold shops along the road, while Pahurat was supposedly "bangkok's little India" and I was too tired.... T.T so I decided to go to the next stop, which were Sampeng (where the wholesale market was) and Yaowarat (Chinatown).

wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....It was a long journey for me. I walked through a small path where on my sides, there were a lot of shops from accessories, snacks (I bought dry strawberry), and etc. I also reached Sampeng without realizing it!! Then I only walked a bit to reach Chinatown. I was soooooo amazed coz the atmosphere made me feel like when I was in Kota. I bought a milktea and asked the seller to take pic of me. :P I also asked her how much the normal fare by tuk tuk to nearest pier.. so..I tried to bargain with tuk-tuk driver.
me:Span Phut Pier, 30 baht??
driver: (just smiling and nodding,i'm not sure whether he understood)
me: (showed the map) 30 baht?Sapan Phut Pier??
driver: fifty!!
me: forty, OK?? ok??

yeah..deal!! :P

well,I still have another interesting story. When I was waiting for the ferry which would bring me to Wat Arun, a monk asked me where I came from. So we talked abt what I studied, whom I was in Bangkok with, then he said,"don't forget to add me on fb" in my mind,wahhh...cool! :P he also asked how to ask "how are you" in Bahasa INdonesia :) His English was pretty good and he,his friend (also a monk),and me took the same ferry and they told me where to alight.

When I reached Wat Arun, it was still very HOT (as usual) and I was climbing the stairs to the top of the temple. I was a bit scared, esp.when I looked down. I tried to take pic of myself (coz I was alone),but mission failed. Thankfully,an Indian guy also climbed up after some moments and he helped me to take pic of me while his daughter was looking at him from downstairs..she looked scared..

well, going down from the top also made my heart kept beating so fast..hikzzz...

sooo...from Wat Arun, I took a boat to Sathom Pier and took skytrain to Silom Station. I tried to find "Bot Mahathai", the church.. The interesting part was a secondary school girl whom I asked on the train said "God bless you" before I left :)
I was also so thankful that the cab driver knew the Church :) It was not that far, but the traffic jam was horrible...

when I saw the Church, I was surprised coz it was the Church that Fr.Joe told me before I left Singapore, Church of HOly Redeemer. The mass already started and after mass,I met the priest to ask about another church nearby. A lady told me about Church of St.JOhn near Chatuchak (coz I would go to Chatuchak Market the next day)

then I met Waranya and Bo around Siam Square...the adventure has not ended..

dinner at Bangkok 6 May 2010

well, I didn't eat any Thai food for my first dinner in Bangkok. Hehehe.. In fact, we ate Chinese food. It took 2.5 hours for me and Pang to go back from Grand Palace to her place because we took bus (ferninda was so innocent, she wanted to try to take bus in bangkok). Therefore, that day was complete coz I took boat, motorbike taxi, cab, and bus in 1day.HAHAHA..

I stayed in a hotel where Bo, a Korean girl (Waranya's friend), was staying. She came from Chiang May (she did her research in Chiang May). The hotel was quite small, but the room was SUPER COMFORTABLE. Bo said, the hotel owner let me stay for free on the first nite, and 500 baht for 2nd nite coz Bo was complaining about how they didn't give clear direction to Bo on her first day. Then, I, innocently said,"ohh..then i just stay in this room for one nite, then move to your room tomorrow nite, then we share the cost of ur room". It turned out on the next day that the hotel owner let me stay for free for 1nite SOOOO.. I want to stay for the 2nd nite..hahahaha.. but nvr mind..at the end, 500 baht is equal to $25.. I ONLY PAID $25 for 2nitesss!! woww :P

now let me tell you about my real adventure in Bangkok on 7 may :)

In the morning, I went with Waranya to the nearest BTS stop (MRT STop, but the skytrain one, not the underground). I had a long discussion with her about the political situation in Bangkok, and so on and so forth. It was very interesting. From the skytrain, I could see the protest below me.

My first stop was Jim Thompson's house. He was the founder of Thai Silk. There were LOTS Of arts collection in his house. I saw paintings from Ayuthaya period (i forgot which century is Ayuthaya period :( hmmm),Buddha statue, Chinese porcelein, wahh..interesting!! The most interesting part is the wall between the rooms is raised around 30 cm..hmm..wait..how to describe it?? wait yah.. Imagine between living room and dining room, you have a 'hole' (rectangular shape) to go to another room (it's not like there's no border between rooms). This rectangular shape hole similar with window (imagine there is a window between your rooms) is formed in a way that you have to step over the 30cm "wall" because in Thai beliefs, the evil spirit is creeping on the floor so they prevent the evil spirit from entering the room.

kucing singapura

Tadi sore aku melihat kucing putih sebelum les nari.

ego

terkadang ego saya terlalu tinggi
terlalu gengsi
enggan merendahkan diri

kata mama,
"makan tuh gengsi"

tapi kadang saya capek mengemis
saya lelah memohon
kadang saya cuma berusaha ga peduli karena ego saya terlalu tinggi
tapi bagaimana kalau kenyataannya, saya memang rapuh
uhhh lagu siapa tuh 'rapuh'

pelajaran nomor satu selama liburan,
belajar menurunkan ego

dangerous boat_bangkok 6May

soooo..

I and Pang arrived at the canal.

Pang: Actually the boat is a bit dangerous
me : (innocent face) why?
Pang: you just see later..

the boat came and..
it turned out that the boat was dangerous because people were rushing out of the boat before it stopped properly.hehehe..I observed how they got into the boat (the first boat went to the opposite direction, so we didnt take that boat).I watched them holding to the pillar, stepped on the bench, and TRADA...sat nicely on the boat..

the next boat came...
as Pang told me,i waited till the boat stopped properly, then got into the boat. I took the picture of the ppl happily. Well,it might be normal for them to take boat to work. I looked around and saw people with uniform, make-up, and it's really normal for them to take boat. Just like we take MRT in spore. But can you feel my excitement???HAHAHAHA..i nvr take boat to commute around the city, not in Jakarta or Tangerang, and obviously not in Singapore :P

i could feel the breeze and splash of water sometimes..i think i was falling asleep on the way. hahaha..

We arrived at Ratchadamnoen after 45minutes?half an hour?hmm..i was not sure..hehehe
Pang asked whether I wanted to take bus or walk, but then we found a tuk tuk. At that moment, i didn't realize it was a tuk tuk!!so i asked her,"can we take 'this'?"
Pang: sure.
me: what is it?
Pang: it's tuk tuk
me: ohhh... (deep in my heart: how silly a tourist doesn't know tuk tuk! T.T)
let's take tuk tuk!! :)

in Jakarta,we have a similar transport which we call 'bajaj'. It was a nostalgia for me. Pang was the one who bargained with the driver,so the driver just realized that I was a tourist when I started taking picture of the buildings around me. When we stopped at the traffic light,he suddenly asked us whether we wanted to take pic. I was so excited.hahahaha

Then we walked to Wat Phra Kaew. It is located in the same complex with the Grand Palace. I have a funny story about it.HAHAHA..(laugh before starting)

tourist price: 350 baht

I tried to enter through the Thai queue.
me : what should I say?
Pang: no need to say anything
me and Pang : (walking with other Thai to enter the temple)
Suddenly an officer stopped us,and he started speaking Thai to both of us!!
I couldn't hide my blank face. At the end, I walked back to the ticket counter and bought the ticket..
T.T it was so embarrassing... T.T hahaha..but it was quite fun :)

I could just say that wat Phra Kaew was wonderful. The golden ornaments on the roof and pillar were shining under the sun. I stepped into the main hall and amazed by the Buddha statue at the 'altar' and the mural painting. I suddenly flew back to my trip to Kelantan with SE2214 classmates when Dr. Irving Johnson explained to us about the mural painting in the Thai temples in Kelantan. It was soooooooooo beautiful and majestic.

Although it was very hot, I couldn't stop myself from looking around every part of the temple. I also felt so peaceful just by looking at the people praying in the temple. Although I was hoping that I could take picture of the altar in the main hall, but I did feel that it's good not to take pic coz it was really a place of worship for them. It was a sacred place, some officers also told some people who were sitting with their legs pointing to the altar to change their position. I think the altar is just like the Tabernacle in the Catholic Church. God is present there.

It was too late for us to enter the Grand Palace, but I was lucky to see the procession of the end of their shift. I took pic with the new guard in charge.

escape to bangkok 6-8 May 2010

I has promised Dom that I will write my post in complete sentences :P

So here is my first attempt.hehehe..

6 May 2010
I woke up at 7.30. I was supposed to attend morning mass and ask blessing from a priest, but I woke up late, so I was rushing to Opus Dei Centre to pray and ask for blessing.

I left Opus Dei at 8.30. It was already late because my flight was at 10.55a.m. I left Kent Ridge Terminal with Andrea because he was going to pick his girlfriend (="mommy") at the airport. At the end, we alighted at Bugis MRT and took a cab. We arrived at the airport at10a.m. I was so scared the check-in gate would close soon T.T The funny thing was I actually already did online check-in,but I didn't check-in in the correct counter. In fact, I was queuing again with the people who had not done online check-in.Thankfully the queue was quite short. fiuhh...

I was waiting in the plane for dunno how long..i think it was delayed for 45minutes. I finished reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" during the flight..hehehe..(finally :P)

Bangkok....

I called Pang,Waranya's cousin. Nice to meet her! We took cab to a hotel where I would stay, but she couldn't find it,so we went to her room to put my backpack. I also met her sister ^^ Then,we took motorbike taxi to the canal to take boat. exam review

i should write this post..why??coz..next sem,i'll also face the horrible exam again..n if i need encouragement,i shall read this post again..

first, Thank you St. Joseph of Cupertino.
http://www.ewtn.com/library/mary/joseph.htm

These are the prayers to ask for his intercession (thanks Dom for introducing St. Joseph and thanks Ronald for posting the prayers on Legion yahoogroups)

First Prayer

O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

Through Christ our Lord.

St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.

Amen.

Second Prayer

O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in the (here mention the name of Examination eg. History paper I ) examination.

In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me

O Holy Ghost enlighten me

Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me

Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.

Remember, when you succeed in the exams then you should thank St. Joseph of Cupertino.

Second,
I'd like to thank my parents and my friends: Dom and Legionaries for all the prayers, Eusoff CG for the daily rosary, A lounge ppl who gave me a lot of good memories in the last few weeks, and my mom who nvr stopped asking me to sleep if i'm tired :P

lama-lama biasa

lama-lama biasa
lama-lama biasa jalan sendiri
duduk diam termenung, bus dinanti
lama-lama biasa duduk sendiri
lihat jauh keluar jendela
lama-lama biasa menulis sendiri
segala isi kepala keluar sahaja
lama-lama biasa

lama-lama biasa

TOMORROW!!!

[ANNIE]
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!
